“I want to nominate David due to his clear desire and passion not only for engineering but for the Rail Industry itself. Throwing himself into everything that is on offer. Whether that be work, training in order to improve his knowledge, STEM events and other events put on by Network Rail, for example he won the Digital Innovation Competition with his idea around computer learning and the use of passenger trains to monitor and predict failures in order to aid with asset management; which was judged by many high up people within the Industry including Andrew Haines (CEO Network Rail).
All in all I have never met someone so proud to work within the rail industry and the desire to make it better, through innovation and development, I can see him going far within the industry and would be well deserving of this award.“
