Said the following about Christopher Myatt:

“Chris is a key part of the Hitachi Learning & Development Team responsible for the Training and Competence of staff for the Hitachi Intercity Express train being introduced on the East Coast Mainline.

Not only is his training expertise sought out by everyone, but his overall knowledge of the train as a Subject Matter Expert. He is dedicated to providing excellent interactive and participative training to his delegates and has been for over 25 years as a Technical Trainer. His expertise and professionalism within this specific project are outstanding.

Chris is the ultimate professional Trainer in my opinion. He is dedicated to ensuring his training is both accurate technically (for the Intercity Express Programme trainset) as well as being engaging and making the sessions on his Vehicle Basic Technical course both interesting and enjoyable.

The Vehicle Basic Technical course that Chris has prepared is the foundation and bedrock of our technicians ‘Route to Competence’. Not only has Chris been delivering this to Hitachi Rail staff but also to third party depots (LNER/Northern) who will also maintain the train on its entry into service.

We have received nothing but 100% positive feedback for this which is a great credit to Chris for what is an intense learning experience.“

“I first met Chris at Siemens when I joined the railway industry, he helped me learn about the fleet of trains and clearly had an extensive knowledge of the unit. He is always willing to help anyone who asks and will go the extra mile to learn the answer if he doesn't know.

I now work with Chris in the L&D department at Hitachi rail and since I joined the team he has been a tremendous help with mentoring and helping me build and design courses.“

“I have nominated Chris because of his professional and easy way that he presents any training Programme that he undertakes. I have been on several courses that Chris has lead and each time I have come away more than satisfied with the course and the content. The other great thing with Chris is that he has no problem with you contacting post training to discuss any issues whether course related or general railway issues.“

Daniel Bell

Said the following about Christopher Myatt:

“Every course I have been on that Chris has mentored I have thoroughly enjoyed and I have always come out of the course with a lot more knowledge than when I began the course.

Training with Chris is fun yet professional.

He is a very warm welcoming person and helped to make me feel at ease and feel comfortable in a classroom environment in which I wouldn't normally be comfortable.“

“Chris is a very dedicated and loyal colleague. He will go out of his way to help someone on a personal or professional level.

He always works hard to ensure that any courses he delivers are fully accessible to every delegate on the course, and has set excellent standards doing so. He is also always willing to offer support and advice in developing course material for courses that other people will be delivering, his attention to detail benefits us all.

He is always available for post-course advice and technical assistance where required, and is seen by many as the first point of contact for advice with train related issues.

The training department would not be what it is without him“
