“Barry observed a potential suicide a station. Barry was driving past the scene when he noticed it was strange for two members of the public to be on the top of a railway bridge, Barry used his instincts and pulled over, he then asked the member of the public already assisting if she needed any help. Barry then contacted the necessary people who stopped trains and contacted emergency services he then stayed on site until civil police arrived and took charge of the situation. Barry then contacted control again to resume normal service. Barry put himself in a potentially vulnerable/dangerous situation to help someone else and this should be recognised. Barry's interventions meant he potentially saved a life and any disruption to the railway service“
