“Whilst completing static tasking on the platform at the station, Barry and Denis noticed a gentleman who looked distressed we witnessed him walking to the edge on platform, we immediately called over to the male asking him to move back away from the edge of the platform but the male was not responding, at this point we contacted the station platform office to get them to come out and we made our way over to platform as quickly as possible, As we reached the male and pulled him back from the platform edge he dropped all his weight and had to be escorted away and sat on a bench, after removing the male from the platform edge a fast train come through approximately 1-2 seconds after we moved him away, the male was visibly distressed. We reassured the male and kept him calm and seated whilst platform staff called 999 requesting police and ambulance.
Police and the Ambulance Service arrived on site and the male was removed into their custody for further assessment“
