The RailStaff Awards 2024

Nominations for Project Manager Of The Year

David Smith

Said the following about Andy Mooney:

“It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for the Project Manager of the Year Award on behalf of Andy Mooney.

He has been in the rail construction industry for numerous years and is currently delivering a section of the Crossrail works in East London.

Andy consistently strives for excellence and creates a climate of continuous improvement. Although responsible for a multi-million pound section of the Crossrail project, he will always go the extra mile to mentor his managers and staff, inspiring those around him.

Andy works tirelessly to ensure his teams deliver their works in a professional and timely fashion. However it is the additional efforts that he puts in that really makes the difference.

Over the past year he has been an amazing advocate for a local rehabilitation programme, helping ex-offenders into work.

Along with an education scheme, where we have had in excess of 200 local primary school children visit our work site for a number of experience days.

There is no doubt that Andy has all the required skills to deliver a project, but it is his vision, passion and enthusiasm that really sets him apart.

With all of this going on he still finds time to work with a youth football team outside of work.

It would be fantastic for Andy to finally get the recognition he deserves.“

Said the following about Andy Mooney:

“Andy Mooney made my 1.5 year on the CSJV Crossrail project an absolute joy in which I know others feel the same. His attention to detail and determination to deliver the best possible project, only brought out the best in us all. On a separate note, Andy Mooney was fully supportive of me when a couple of issues arisen and I was unhappy. I can honestly say Andy Mooney has been the best project manager I have worked for in my 6 years of construction.“
