"Thank you so very much for an amazing evening last night. We all had a really great time and the tremendous hard work that you all went to, to stage such an event, with such careful attention to detail, was not unnoticed. Well done. Thank you so much too for the award and the cheque! I am not unmindful of the fact that there are hundreds of men and women across the railway industry that are equally deserving. Special tribute to those lone workers who work at single staffed stations who's commitment and dedication so often goes unnoticed. Again many thanks."

Signalling at Network Rail said the following on 25/10/2012:

"Just a line to thank you for an absolutely incredible night. The night itself was really fantastic and I said to my wife, June, just let’s sit back and enjoy it: no pressure as I didn't really think that I would win! Well, as soon as 25 years were mentioned, I took one look at June, while shaking my head in disbelief. Then the marvelous rail and face shaped glittering award and a certificate as well…………………and then the (totally unexpected) cheque!. I was also extremely pleased to see David Maidment recognised. His achievement very appropriately wins the whole night for me and the standing ovation that he received was very well deserved. It was really worth being there just for that. Thanks again to all who were involved in this event (I am now drinking my coffee out of the Rail Seventeen cup at work!)."

Simone Carter (Outstanding Winner of Customer Service Award 2012)

Customer Services Manager at London Midland said the following on 23/10/2012:

"Thank you for a wonderful evening- words really cannot express how humbled I am to have won, ( yes, I cried all the way home.) The entertainment and meal were first class and the whole theme was amazing , wonderful to see so many people dressed up. As for my wonderful prize money, how will I spend it ? Two ways of spending it, this is how much patience I have , I purchased a new kitchen 11 years ago and its still in the boxes as my husband hasn't fitted it yet so hopefully this may spur him on......... Secondly I am a cartoonist and I help a lot of charities and now I have the funds to actually print some cartoons on to Christmas cards, which I can hopefully sell and raise some money for The Greyhound Trust ( My local one Perry Barr) and of course The Railway Children Fund too all being well. So thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart x Best wishes Simone"

Diane Etches

Station Retailer at Merseyrail said the following on 22/10/2012:

"I would like to thank you for a amazing night. The theme of the night was great, we all entered into the spirit and dressed to impress. On arrival we where amazed with the greeting, the Rail Seventeen Cups were a lovely touch, as were the bouncers on the door. The food was fabulous and the show by the stunt men and dancers was a real treat. The awards were a pleasure to watch, my favorite being the Life Time achievement, which brought a tear to everyone’s eyes. Then we danced the night away to the band, who where great and had a gamble with our fun money. Overall the atmosphere was electric. I enjoyed every minute of the evening."
