“Kate one of our employee nominated the following team for an internal GTR award and these are her words.
I would like to nominate the whole team at Sanderstead station, which includes two members of Southern Staff, Pauline Giles and Karen Winstanley and also four On Trak staff that cover the gates at the station. (Max, Sabeela, Phillip and Hassan)
All six people work as a close team to fulfil all the company values and ensure that they provide the best customer service possible, at a busy commuter just outside London. They also understand the value of the station as part of the local community. This is demonstrated by the following
£34k has been raised in the last 8 years for Diabetes UK through their station book club.
They have enhanced the station environment with 14 baskets of flowers and also planters on the platform with colourful flowers. Pauline, who works at the station, spends 12 hours at the station every year doing a MacMillan cake sale, and also bakes most of the cakes she sells herself.
The team also have zero fails on our internal audit process, and customers are always writing in to praise the team.“
“I thought the evening was extremely well organised and the atmosphere was even better than last year, and a far cry from some other awards events held elsewhere. The meal itself was also excellent.”
