Nominations for Rail Engineer of the Year

Richard Morris

Said the following about Robert Doberski - **HAS LEFT**:

“Rob has been a real asset for our business since he joined CrossCountry on the engineering graduate scheme just over 3 years ago. He has an excellent attitude and is always willing to get stuck in and solve problems. He listens to advice from his colleagues and managers and uses this to continuously improve as a professional engineer. As our Class 170 Fleet Engineer he is constantly striving for improvements to both reliability and on board environment and understands the urgency and pressures faced by the train operator. As well as being a hands on engineer he also manages relationships with stakeholders really well – from the depot through to the train crew representatives.

As well as being our Class 170 Fleet Engineer, Rob is also our Digital Train Champion. He has been responsible for upgrading the WiFi system on all of our fleets this year and has solved problems throughout the workstream – concerning both design and the physical installation of the system at the depots. Using his digital train experience and his enthusiasm for innovation Rob has also delivered 2 projects to trial remote monitoring systems on our fleets. What is most commendable is how Rob has taken the concept and turned it into a system that interfaces with train and can be installed and maintained practically. His grasp of industry standards and quality requirements is admirable for an engineer so early in his career“
