“Qasim is an awesome apprentice - for the second time!
Qasim successfully completed his Level 3 apprenticeship in Traction and Rolling Stock with Siemens back in 2016, and moved into a technician position at the Ilford Depot. His passion, maturity, and technical skill made him a great asset to the busy production team during his apprenticeship, and his friendly nature enabled him to easily fit in with the technicians there. He completed his apprenticeship to a high standard and was readily offered a role as a technician. He continued to work at Ilford for another two years, when he was presented with the opportunity to take up a Level 4 apprenticeship with the National College for High Speed Rail (NCSHR).
Qasim recognised the value in apprenticeship training - and having access to the new state of the art training centres in Birmingham and Doncaster - and signed up. He is now making fabulous progress through his programme whilst still giving his all with his depot team mates to get trains out on time safely and to standard.
Qasim is proof that if you are prepared to put in the effort, anything is achievable, and is a brilliant example for our newest apprentices.“
