Said the following about Paul Arnill:

“Paul Arnill is a railway bylaw enforcement officer on Greater Anglia, he interacts a lot with commuters on train services and at stations while on his patrols. Paul has a history of exceptional performance especially in areas related to customer service, has a natural ability to engage with the public and truly deserves recognition for his work over the past year. Below are a few examples of customer feedback he’s received;

09/07/2018 - “I would just like to express my appreciation re one of your staff after leaving a rucksack on a train. I arrived into Cambridge train station late on Friday night from the Birmingham train with a dog in a pet carrier and in all the fuss getting her off the train I left behind my rucksack with wallet, phone, house keys - you name it! The train went into the depot and they called through but at first it didn't seem as if it had been found. I was sitting outside wondering what on earth I was going to do when a lovely chap called Paul Arnill came back out to find me and told me that they had now located it and I could pick it up from lost property the next morning. He really went the extra mile and is a credit to your organisation.

While all this was going on they were all dealing with a cancelled train and getting people into taxis. Paul took my name and when I collected the rucksack on Saturday he had labelled it with a note I would pick it up, and he gave me his card to show the train station staff as well. Please pass on my thanks and tell him I'll be dropping in a small thank you gift for him this week.“ – Jo Taylor

13/05/2018 - “I would just like to thank Paul Arnill who was so helpful to my sister and myself the other evening, Friday, 11th May. We had downloaded our return tickets to London onto my phone but the battery has run out and we were stuck the wrong side of the barrier and missed our train . He very kindly tried to charge my phone using a charger and when that did not work went and brought his own power bank which was extremely helpful and gave my phone enough charge for the rest of the evening and got me through the ticket barriers. It was lovely to be treated so nicely as it is rare enough nowadays!” – Naomi McCarthy

20/04/2018 - “I just wanted to recognise and thank Paul Arnill for his help and support in re uniting me with my wallet at Cambridge Station. It was late on a Friday night and he showed me to the lost property office and kindly waited for me to have my wallet returned. He was professional and engaging, very customer focused. Thank you for looking after me.” – Andrew Hughes

17/03/2018 - “I would like to report a very kind deed on the 17 March at 6pm just outside Cambridge train station. This involved Paul Arnill who helped me contact my family. I was due to meet my family having been on a course in London. My husband was collecting my son from university and both had said they would meet me at a restaurant in Cambridge and then we could all drive back together to Norwich. My husband and son said they would send me a text with regards to the venue. Unfortunately I had a problem with my phone and as a result no charge. Paul used his own phone to contact my family and organise a taxi. Unbeknown to him I had had breast surgery 2 days previously. This very kind act was greatly appreciated and should be commended for his empathetic and helpful response.” - Christine“

Said the following about Paul Arnill:

“I just wanted to get in touch to give some positive feedback and thanks to a member of the Land Sheriffs team who really helped me out on the evening 22nd July. After I left my bag on the last train into Cambridge I dashed back to the station and was helped by Paul Arnill, the gentleman was very polite and considerate and took my details, also explaining what was likely to happen with my bag. However, just 10 minutes later I received a call and he already had my bag. I'm just really impressed with the service and attitude, real nice guys going good work so a big thank you from me. Keep it up.“

Oliver Horn

“I would like to express my gratitude for the help Paul has been able to give us here at Cambridge North over the last 6 months since we opened.

We've had a couple of occasions with travellers and others where his presence and experience have been invaluable.“

Chris Silverman

Said the following about Paul Arnill:

“I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to two of your officers, Paul Arnill and Richard Garcia, who both being very switched on, spotted, questioned and stopped a male who was being both antisocial and fraudulently using an annual travel scholar’s pass.

We have experienced a lot of anti-social behaviour at Bury Station and today both officers have conducted their duties with both professionalism and courtesy and delivered exceptional results I’m sure you will agree“

Alan Webster

Said the following about Paul Arnill:

“Paul is one of those people that despite the difficult day to day job he undertakes he always does it with the upmost care for the customer.

His approach is extremely customer focussed and given the job he has to undertake, dealing with anti-social behaviour, I am sure that any written accolades are only the tip of the iceberg.

I first met Paul at Cambridge Station after an extremely hard day at work followed by delays and cancellations on the trains.

On arriving at Cambridge Station I had misplaced my wallet with my ticket and my last train home was cancelled.

Paul not only managed to calm me down during a very stressful situation but his helpful demeanour and professionalism made me feel that I mattered.

Paul very quickly located my lost wallet and even managed to sort out ensuring I was first in a replacement taxi provided by the station.

I really can't thank him enough.“
