“Naz is a Driver Assessor, which is a driver who can train and assess other drivers. He has put in so much effort this year to keep our depot going; running driver briefings for signalling / route changes, doing driver assessments and pass outs. He has been flexible with his time in order to meet our needs, changing days off at the drop of a hat. He always remains calm and reassuring when dealing with managers and drivers alike, instilling confidence in all about him. He never stops smiling and never has a bad word to say. Without him we would have had drivers unable to work trains and work remaining uncovered. He had done all of this while having some health issues, which many would have been unable to cope with. If I could clone him I would!“
“Nazir is a Driver assessor at Manchester Piccadilly, this year he has been amazing in helping us to get new drivers into the business trained, without his hard work and dedication we would have had major issues.
He has been on the Railway for 38 years and is a role model to all, this year alone he has completed approximately 180 route assessment drives & 250 route briefs. Without Nazir flexibility being happy to help work additional hours and times and always welcomes all with a smile and provides an in depth knowledge. He is the man to go to when you need some help or advice, he had some health concerns this year but has worked through and has risen to the challenge. “I didn't think you could top last year, which was the first RailStaff Awards I went to. But this year well and truly surpassed it. Everything from the layout, theme, awards presentation, (the hosts fabulous jacket!) to the entertainment. My guests were amazed by it and I was very lucky to be part of it. I am sure you guys had a bigger turn out then last year? Also the live band - what a great addition.”
