Nominations for Rail Team of the Year

Dean Johns

Said the following about IP Track S&SD:

“For their team approach towards improving not only the IP Tracks knowledge and capability but the wider IP & Route businesses understanding and ultimate application of the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) 2015.

The team not only designed a railway specific suite of briefing documents but also took this to an audience over and above their own teams, thus sharing their knowledge and increasing the business capability in both CDM and how it applies to our railway.

The content and delivery of this material is superb and the whole team should be recognised for the difference they have made within the business“

Gail Everton

Said the following about IP Track S&SD:

“Two of IP Track’s biggest ecological risks are Japanese Knotweed and Great Crested Newts, both of which also have the potential for massive financial risk and project delays if discovered before or during trackside works.

Recognising this very real risk not just to the business but to lineside neighbours and their colleagues, the IP Track S&SD team commissioned and produced two films designed to raise awareness not only within Infrastructure Projects (IP) but across the rest of Network Rail, and with the support of the TSA, across the entire supply chain.

The film’s primary aims are to upskill those working trackside to recognise the signs of both Japanese Knotweed and Great Crested Newts and, most importantly, what procedures and processes they need to follow to deal with them safely and correctly.

Both films were posted up on the TSA website to gain maximum exposure – which has certainly worked! In the first month over 750 people viewed the Knotweed film and 445 the Newt film.

As the only films of their type specifically created for the rail industry, the IP Track S&SD team should be rightly proud of raising awareness of such important and potentially damaging issues to the wider rail community.“
