Nominations for Rail Team of the Year

Said the following about Christmas 2016 project Team:

“London Paddington Station was closed from 24th December 2016 for planned engineering works and reopened. Trains were starting and terminating at Ealing Broadway. Ealing Broadway has 4 platforms, Paddington has 14. The District line at Ealing was also closed over this period for engineering works. The project team put a massive amount of work into ensuring that our customers were not inconvenienced. This included ensuring we had the local town hall to evacuate to should the need arise. Drinks were served around the station to customers. The project team arranged briefings for staff and agency staff, were on hand for any issues, they arranged additional volunteers. The project team also managed to arrange for a temporary bridge to be opened for the duration of the engineering works to allow for easier passenger flows, utilised disused shop units and turned them into mess room facilities for staff and drivers alike. They also arranged for alternative transport to be very close by, should the need arise - which was used! The project team were led by Barry Milsom and included Ann Jenner, Sue Sharma and Ian Mundy. These guys also ensured a contingency plan was securely in place in case the engineering works over ran. As a Duty Manager based at Ealing Broadway, the project team definitely went above and beyond anything I believed that was required, this meant that the blockade went off successfully and was easy to deliver from our point of view. Given that this blockade could have failed and the implications to that would have been massive, the team put everything they had to make sure it was a success, I feel that the project team deserve to be nominated for this award“
