Nominations for Rail Team of the Year

Martin Brown

Said the following about A Team:

“I would like to recognise the A Team for all the hard work and dedication to delivering the highest standards in customer service and right time railway.

The team work together by communicating on social websites for quick and easy access to information along the line this brings the team together in more ways than one. They have a “What's App” group this has allowed the team to communicate in a modern faster way e.g. video calling pictures and voice calls. This modern approach to communication has really help the team to excel in fast communication that is timely and benefits not only them but also the customers. Plus the additional Banter Group for light hearted fun.

The team are actively involved in helping one another they are very much involved in charity work for example the recent Grenfell towers fire this year, they worked together with platform and gate line, collecting from passengers making announcements and walking up and down platforms and standing by gates collecting for such a worthy cause.

When there is disruption broken down trains ticket office gate-lines and platform the teams come together providing water tea and coffee and looking after vulnerable passengers by providing taxis or other modes of transport and alternative routes. When there is fatalities the team work in a professional manner updating control and managers attending site.

It goes without saying how remarkable this team is, they also support anything we undertake under GTR and will also be found making suggestion to improve the customer service. The close link this team has with each other helps to deliver the kind of results we are seeing.

The right time railway, nil sickness and increased praise on GN Twitter page are just some of what this team deliver day in day out.

This team care about each other and the brand that they work for, as a manager it is so easy to manage them as they support one another.

Having great team work delivers great customer service, engagement, uniform and station standards. Pride and Friendship we are one big happy family is what I feel runs through this team and without that I would struggle as a manager running a number of key station on the Great Northern Route.“
