The RBF (Railway Benefit Fund) is the only charity working exclusively for people associated with the rail industry who find themselves in financial hardship, often through no fault of their own.  RBF has a proud heritage and has been supporting people since 1858.  Today RBF is a modern, forward thinking organisation, firmly focused in its purpose to offer a range of services to railway people looking for support and helped over 500 people last year. 

2015, RBF will be launching a new service and hopes to support further railway people.  Our new confidential phone line offers a helping hand to those who find themselves confronted by difficult circumstances..  Assistance is provided in many forms, on a short or long term basis and is specifically tailored to an individual’s situation.  If you not sure where to turn to, RBF is a phone call away and will hold your hand through difficult circumstances.

We offer services to current and retired railway workers and their families who face financial difficulties through illness, injury, bereavement and adversity often through no fault of their own.   Nobody can predict the future and circumstances often people find themselves in, however, we are only a phone call away to support people in times of hardship.   

This year, RBF needs £700,000 to support these people in their times of need.  We rely on regular donations from the workers and companies of the rail industry to fund the charity.
