Pete Waterman
Taking time out from a hectic schedule Pete Waterman returns this year to host the RailStaff Awards 2010. A long time supporter of the rail industry Pete started work as a locomotive fireman and went on to build a successful career as a disc jockey and music writer. Songs by Pete Waterman have been responsible for 22 number one hits in Britain. Despite the pressures of the rock business Pete has never forgotten railways. He remains firmly involved backing plans for a national railway academy. Recently he completed a book on railway modelling. The book, 'Just Like the Real Thing' tells the story of how he and a team of dedicated modellers built one of the most impressive model layouts in the country. The model railway is 90 feet in length. Pete covers all aspects of building his layout of Leamington Spa station and gives tips on how to create authentic model railways to the very highest standard. Pete’s passion and enthusiasm for railways remains as vibrant as the music he likes best. His ‘Friday Night Fever’ show can be heard on Smooth Radio on Friday evenings.

Danny Bhoy
Since his first solo show in a modest 60-seater at the Edinburgh Fringe back in 2001, Danny Bhoy's star has continued to rise. He did his 8th solo show at the Fringe last year to packed-out houses in one of the biggest venues in town, tells only a small part of the incredible journey this young Scottish comic has taken.
In just a short few years, Danny has built up a massive following everywhere he has been. He has continually smashed his own box office records in Australia and New Zealand as well as in his home country of Scotland. As probably the most travelled comedian working in the World today, Danny's unique brand of story-telling and razor sharp wit has been described as "effortlessly funny" by one critic, and "the stand up equivalent of Bill Bryson" by another.
In July 2009, he also recorded a highly prestigious 1-hour Comedy Central Special. The special will be aired in the US early this year. Danny has just finished recording a spot on the David Letterman show with fellow guest Matt Damon. 2010 promises to be another busy year for the brilliant young Scot.

Fully FunKtional
Live music is always a treat. By popular demand sensational party band, Fully Funktional, will be appearing at the RailStaff Awards this October for the fourth year running. The magic musicians have become firm favourites with rail staff and ravers alike. After the Awards presentations themselves the dancing starts and Fully Funktional manage to make sure everyone on the floor is a star. Says a spokesman for the band, ‘A bunch of musicians that stand and politely go through the motions - we are definitely not! If you want to see horn players starting a conga-line, our guitarist encouraging guests to assist him in a wild solo, our singers serenading people even outside the room & our bass player doing the occasional backslide across the dance floor mid-song, then this is the band you need!’ Their repertoire includes a generous spoonful of every ingredient required for an unforgettable performance, from rock n’ roll, pop, funk, soul, disco, rock, big band swing and jazz.
